There is however an essential difference between two: Kashmir cloths are weaved on loom, which gives them a smooth and regular aspect, while the Orenburg Russian productions are knitted, which gives them an exceptional filling, as well as an incomparable softness.

Shawls Orenburg are produced with two different techniques.
One is to use classical needles, which gives an already very nice quality, and the second is to use a kind of "Forks".
This more sophisticated technology gives much wider stitches and so, allows a much bigger freedom to the workers creativity.

The technique of forks allows to fabricate shawls with unlimited esthetic patterns.
By varying the stitches sizes to the infinity, they get all imaginable motives, with a superior filling and a very good insulating capacity.

The Shawls Orenburg are reputed for their swelling, and their lightness.
These qualities are highlighted by the well-known test which consists in getting them in the hole of a wedding ring, which is amazing, at first.
